Barry Nethercott has been appointed interim chief financial officer of Sovereign.
He will replace Rita Akushie, who leaves after an interim stint to take up a permanent role as chief financial officer at Cancer Research UK in the new year.
Mr Nethercott joined Network Homes as an interim executive finance director in 2014, before taking up the role permanently.
For the past 10 years he has worked in similar roles within the housing sector, including Guinness Partnership and Southern Housing Group.
He joins Sovereign on 2 January 2019, while recruitment continues for a permanent replacement.
A spokesperson for Network Homes said the group is interviewing for an interim finance director.
Mr Nethercott said: “Sovereign has a great reputation for being financially strong and I’m looking forward to working with the team to really maximise the impact of their investment in people and places.”
Sovereign’s chief executive Mark Washer said: “While we continue our search for a permanent CFO, it’s great to have an experienced and talented executive like Barry joining the team.”
Former chief financial officer Mark Hattersley left Sovereign earlier in the year to take up Mr Washer’s previous finance post at Clarion Housing Group.
