Riverside Group has appointed the former chief executive of a Glasgow landlord as head of its Scottish subsidiary.
Gary Naylor will take up the managing director role at Riverside Scotland on 8 September.
He headed up 3,500-home Thenue Housing before stepping down in May after just over three years in the top job at the Glasgow-based landlord.
At Riverside, Mr Naylor will replace Diana MacLean, who the group announced in May was leaving for a “career break aimed at focusing on her health”.
Riverside Scotland manages around 2,300 homes across the country. It is part of the Liverpool-based Riverside Group, which operates around 75,000 homes across England and Scotland.
Mr Naylor said: “This is a pivotal time for housing in Scotland, and I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to highlight and advance priorities that matter most to our communities here.”
Earlier in his career, he spent just over six years at Cheshire-based landlord Peaks and Plains Housing Trust. Prior to that, Mr Naylor worked for Manchester-based landlord Irwell Valley for nearly eight years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Jim Strang, chair of Riverside Scotland, said Mr Naylor’s “experience, leadership and passion for tenant-focused services made him a perfect fit” for the landlord.
The organisation was formerly known as Irvine Housing Association, but was rebranded when it became part of Riverside in 2011.
Mr Naylor’s former employer, Thenue Housing, is advertising for a new permanent boss. The deadline for applications is 29 September, with final interviews expected to be held in early November, according to the recruitment pack.
Alex McGuire, a former executive of Wheatley, Scotland’s largest social landlord, is currently filling in as Thenue’s interim chief executive, according to the landlord’s website.
