Non-social housing development for sale made up 13 per cent of housing association turnover in 2014/15.

Social Housing analysed the first tranche and non-social housing development sales income reported in the 2014/15 accounts of 114 associations in England.

The portion of turnover that came from first tranche sales and non-social housing development rose two percentage points between 2013/14 and 2014/15.

The figures give an indication of the extent to which housing associations are depending on sales to offset falls in grant and the degree to which they are exposed to the housing market…
